06/12/2010 - I finally decided I would start some weird blog of stuff going on or odd things I remember or just any
personal lost media of mine, this is still sort of a W.I.P part so keep that in mind peeps! first things first I'll start it off with this odd game I very vaugely remember.
this is a very vauge memory of mine which I cannot even place the year I even saw it, maybe about 2015. so I remember a let's player playing a game (DanTDM I think) which might not have even had a name, it was a demo
iirc, in the game you had a hammer and you could smash anything, it was very colorful but kind of buggy. this site https://smashthewalls.com/ reminds me of it, the layout of the game had a house (I think?) which was two story, the sky was some kind of purple or rainbow, it was on a roblox like baseplate which the let's player ended up falling off of (which was not intentional at all, it went on for infinity) the floor was grey, I also think it might've had people you could also smash? it was blocky.
06/16/2010 - anyone else really bad at getting what they actually want at stores? Lately whenever I go to a store for some snacks I tend to get something that I THINK I want only to realize that it was never what I wanted at all, for example yesterday I went to my local family dollar to get what I THOUGHT I wanted (flaming hot cheetos) only to realize that I actually wanted oreos due to my brother getting some later that day, why is this? It's like I
completely blank whenever I think about what I want to eat and just end up getting something that I eat like once
and then almost instantly get tired of.
06/23/2010 hello blog! recently for my brothers birthday (yesterday) we went thrifting! I came upon an old camera, a rubber duck, an old webcam, and a cool storage box thing. the camera didn't work at first but my father managed to get it working by messing with the charging port, it has a bunch of old photos from a while back of some random kid on christmas, strange stuff. but anyway, the camera has A LOVELY nostalgic quality to it and I absolutely LOVE IT, if you press and hold the shutter button you can use flash for some lovely nostalgic looking photos. so lately I've been messing with that, hopefully I'll be able to go somewhere soon so I can take some photos with it outside! the webcam is also great, it's 4:3 (the superior aspect ratio) and has pretty good quality, I've been looking for an external webcam for a while so this was a GREAT find! especially since I DIDN'T HAVE TO ORDER IT. I am very tired of having to order stuff so these were GREAT local finds! speaking of ordering, what's with certain businesses and shutting down their stores for an ONLINE business? how is that good for the company? a certain business (which I will not name because I'm not sure how local it is and I don't want some insane guy tracking down my location) which had some great craft supplies shut down their store and you can now ONLY order anything you want from there, which makes me pretty frustrated cause I DO NOT feel like waiting for a couple days just for some fabric. I'd MUCH rather just go into a store and be able to physically see and feel if it's good quality, not have to GUESS if it's a good purchase or not. not only that but it's A LOT more fun to be able to go into a store and browse around then scroll through a list of stuff, who the hell prefers that? not that it's not good for CERTAIN CASES but it's better to have the option.
07/24/2010 - hello again blog! i've recently added a new page to my site, it's a little thing i made called "WatchTube Videos" (this page is not in the canon lore so Brandon in canon is NOT the creator, don't get your hopes up there.) there are a couple secret things and possibly more coming in the future (if i do end up ever actually updating it, chances are I'll just completely forget/give up.) so be on the lookout whoever is reading this! more ciphers and what not possibly coming soon! also be reminded that i'm not going to be revealing any crazy lore here or whatever, that's for you to figure out ;) however I will go a bit into the behind the scenes for making the site, this page comes from the Twitter account WatchTube Videos in which there is a screenshot of the site, for a while that was all I had, but eventually i got inspired to make it into an actual functionalish page! so I went to the web archive for YouTube, found a capture from around the time the screenshot was made and got to modifying it into the screenshot! of course the site isn't PERFECT, there's certain little details that are a bit off (the thumbnails are in 4:3 instead of 16:9 for one) but overall I'd say it was a huge success! I started with modifying the YouTube logo by replacing the image with a gif (which luckily I already had the logo on hand) I went to my favorite photoshop replacement site (Photopea) and converted the logo into a gif format, also cropping it to the right size. then I uploaded it to NeoCities and manually replaced the logo, then came the difficult part. the links. I had to manually find each href and replace it so that it wouldn't try to redirect to a page that doesn't exist (it will try to go to /web/20070715051616im_/) I went with it redirecting to the home page for my site but didn't remember what it would be called, so I mistakingly changed it to "home" instead of "index" which actually ended up being great cause I then came up with the idea that this site is sort of an archive of the "WatchTube Videos" site and every other capture was from an archive of someones ban, so I started work on the ban page! I removed all of the stuff from the page like the videos and whatnot (much harder then you'd think) until I had it blank besides the top bar and the footer. I then got the idea to have a randomized ban, so I went to chatgpt (I know I know, ai is bad... but I cannot script for the life of me and I'm not about to learn how to script for a silly little arg. I know it's bad but I modified the script so it's not COMPLETELY ai..) and I had it generate a ban script, but UH OH. the script for whatever reason wouldn't work at all. so after a bit of troubleshooting I tried removing any external scripts from the page and for some reason that worked (don't ask me why I really don't know.) I went to work on making up some silly ban reasons which I created a ton. I also added a secret but I wont tell you what that is you have to find it yourself ;)) but then I realized that the "feedback" button didn't actually redirect, so I THEN got the idea of a feedback that doesn't actually do anything (I'm sorry for the reveal) which would berate you for even writing feedback in the first place. so I once again (I'm very sorry) went to chatgpt (I promise I don't use any more chat gpt after this) and generated a html code for the survey and the script (I was lazy I'm sorrryyyyy) I did a bit of tweaking until I had something I was happy with and went back to working on the WatchTube Videos page. I had to manually grab all of the thumbnails, manually crop them from the screenshot (which took a lot longer then you'd think) and export them. I kept having to create a new tab cause for some reason after a bit of using photopea it randomly decides it WONT export anything dispite you typing out all of the names and clicking export, so I had to create a new tab A BUNCH for EACH THUMBNAIL. which was VERY tedious, i'm hoping that issue gets fixed soon and that it's not a problem with my own pc, but for now that's what I have to deal with. i also had to MANUALLY RECREATE EACH AND EVERY VIDEO. which was also very tedious, a lot of checking back and forth to make sure it is 100% accurate. if you have recreated anything before you know the struggle. constantly checking again and again until it's finished, then duplicating the video and manually cropping and uploading the thumbnail, editing the url so it's the right thumbnail, then recreate the text, repeat. until I was FINALLY finished with all the videos. it was very annoying to have to keep repeating the same proccess OVER and OVER again so I'm very glad I don't have to do that anymore. I also had to manually upload each part of the youtube site to this which was also pretty tedious as well. and that's about it! I hoped you enjoyed my rather boring walkthrough of how I made the site. UPDATE: I FORGOT ABOUT SOMETHING, I recently (today, before I made this entry to the blog) had decided to modify it so it was more like a ban page instead of it just displaying the ban reason, so I added a script for the date and time system which simply grabs the current date, makes it 2004, and grabs the current time. I also added a bit more flair like "Our moderators have determined that your behavior on WatchTube Videos has violated our Terms of Service" and "Please follow our WatchTube Videos Community Guidelines so that WatchTube Videos can keep our clean reputation :3 If you wish to attempt to appeal, please contact us via our Feedback Page or email us at: watchtubevideosofficial@gmail.com, we value your feedback deeply." I also had to make a favicon, which was VERY DIFFICULT, first off, there is BARELY ANY ROOM for "watch" in youtube's TINY favicon, so I had to edit it A LOT until I was truly happy with it, I considered just using what I had used for my Twitter pfp, but It looked very off when I tried it, (if you find multiple versions of the favicon in this site then that's why.) so I went with just using the one I had already made, I had to do A LOT of modifying and tweaking. I hardly had any room to work with for "Watch" so I had to do some tricks so it doesn't look like a big black blob of indecipherable text. I hope that it doesn't look like a big black blob of indecipherable text. but idk, you decide.
